Bushfires and Business Insurance - What you need to know.

Bushfires are unplanned vegetation fires that can be started by natural causes or by people and can include grass fires, forest fires, and scrub fires. While bushfires can cause serious damage to preoperty and infrastructure and lead to loss of life, they are a natural, essential, and complex part of the Australian ecosystem.

Reseach shows that bushfire risks are rising across Australia, particularly in coastal Western Australia, central Queensland, and in large parts of New South Wales, Victoria, and the Australian Capital Territory. At any time of the year, some parts of Australia are prone to bushfires.

While you might think the initial risk to your business is the fire itself, businesses outside of the fire zones can feel the impact with supply chain disruption affecting access to goods. While you can't control the weather, insurance can help protect businesses across Australia from the risk's bushfires pose to premises, vehicles, and trading.
